whats so bad about believing people go to heaven?
by sowhatnow init occurred to me today, that so often, my mother will make the comment that .
"those false religions teach that everyone is going to heaven when they die, oh sure, .
all you have to do is be a good person, and off you go to heaven.

"Inhabited by righteous people". Put a designer label on some clothes, and million of people
will pay insane prices for them. It's all in the name. Group identities are no different. Embracing
them makes you feel special. Out of all the possible forms of group identity, none are as strong as religion.
JW's are at the top of the list, we will live forever but you folks will be toasted. We are special and we
have special knowledge, heaven would suck for those who are not called. JW view of heaven is
not that appealing.

$10 per pub. Money begging session last night
by StarTrekAngel inlast night, during our "christian life and ministry" meeting, we had a session on local needs.
elder opened the talk with a disclaimer saying that this was a reminder (cited psalms about how david loved jehovahs reminders).
he reminded us of how bless we are of having our own local assembly hall.

Bonnie your comment brings to mind something that was mention in the past few days,
Wounded Warrior project. The money received from donation for the purpose in aiding these
heroic veterans is under investigation. Greed steps in..

John 2:15 "stop making my father's house a place of business". These people are covering
every aspect of what a religion is not to be according to the Bible. They have no shame, they
know the flock will eat it up as the word of GOD. We should feel sorry for the GB they
are suffering from a Messiah complex, they no not what they say.

by Deltawave inspeaking with inlaws i another congregation today who said exactly what is being said in our own hall.

It's so funny, when the wife see those carts she takes a picture and show it to me when
she get home. In every snap the all look the same, bored out of their mind. She takes the
pictures to see if I recognize any one, hell it's been over 29 years since I was a JW. LOL

A good friend, a minister. We were talking one day about one of the member in the church,
the guy had a drug problem. I ask the minister do you think it's a good idea that he sing in
the church chorus? I still had some of that JW baggage.
He told me that why we are here to o help others. What do you think would have happen if
that had taken place in JW land. That open my eyes

Would you kill for the org?.......YES I WOULD!
by olongapo joe inso, a few years ago my jw parents, my non jw sister and her husband, and myself were discussing religion and jw beliefs.
my parents of course defending the jw's, the rest of us, against jw's ( it may not have been specifically against jw's, maybe just religion in general) anyway, things are getting a little heated, and i finally ask my pops, if the watchtower bible and tract society told you to go out and start killing muslims, would you do it?
yes i would, was his reply, to which i say, then your not any different than the radical muslims killing in the name of religion.

I know some JW would be happy to go out and kill and sleep great at night.
Face it these people are living on the edge. If you can convince people to go against their
natural human emotions, hell yes. I hope if they do we are not on the hit list.

I realized how to get to the top real fast, missionary. And oh boy was I disappointed
when I got there. The bullying never stop. My first elder meeting at the assembly,
you knew who was in charge. That elder that picked on your mother a jerk, I knew a few.
